Adam Levine has denied having an affair, but admits he “crossed the line”.

After accusing wife Behati Prinsloo of cheating on him and naming his child after his alleged mistress, Adam Levine is speaking out.

“There’s a lot being said about me right now and I want to clear the air,” the Maroon 5 frontman wrote on his verified Instagram stories on Tuesday.

“I used poor judgment to talk to anyone other than my wife in ANY coercive way,” Levin wrote. “I didn’t have a relationship, yet I crossed the line at an unfortunate time in my life.”

Levine broke her silence when Instagram model Sumner Stroh went viral with a Tik Tok video in which she claimed to have been with Levine for about a year and who she said shared Instagram messages with that appeared to be linked to her verified account.

“At the time, I was young, I was naive, and frankly, I feel exploited,” Stroh said.

Levin, she said, reached out to her after things ended with a request.

“He said, ‘OK, serious question. I’m going to have another child [a] boy, I really want to name him Sumner,’” she said, reading the alleged message aloud. ‘”Are you okay with that? Seriously DIE'”.

Levine and his model wife of eight years recently announced that they are expecting their third child.

“In some cases it became inappropriate; I have faced this and taken proactive steps to resolve it with my family,” Levin wrote in his statement.

“My wife and my family are all I care about in this world. The only thing I really care about was being naive and stupid enough to risk it was the biggest mistake I could have made,” he wrote. “I’ll never get it again. I take full responsibility. we will overcome And we will overcome it together.”

Stroh posted another video on Monday to share some of the things she wishes she had said in her first video, including how “regretful” she feels and how it went public because a friend was trying to sell her account to a tabloid.

CNN has reached out to Levine’s representatives for further comment.
