In a tweet linking to the Carolina Journal’s report on the shooting, Harrigan wrote that his opponent’s policies are causing “horrendous crime,” including political violence.

When asked if the FBI was investigating the shooting, the FBI’s Charlotte office said the office cannot confirm or deny the existence of any investigations.

In that attack, a man is accused of breaking into the couple’s San Francisco home on October 28 and assaulting Paul Pelosi, causing injuries including a fractured skull.
Also, in recent days, a Chicago man has been accused of making violent threats against the Republican candidate for governor of Illinois.
