Leicester City 2-0 Leeds United: The Foxes got a valuable win against the strugglers to move up from the bottom

Harvey Barnes has scored five goals in five appearances against Leeds in the Premier League

Leicester City secured a valuable Premier League win against struggling Leeds as they moved off the bottom of the table.

The result saw Brendan Rodgers’ side enjoy only their second win of the campaign, while Leeds, who remain in 16th place, are winless in their last seven top-flight games.

Robin Koch’s own goal put the hosts on course before either side had a shot, with the Leeds defender sliding Dennis Praet’s cross past goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

While Leeds had chances to equalise, particularly when Luis Sinisterra hit the woodwork, they were repeatedly left open at the back.

And they were punished by an unmarked Harvey Barnes, doubling for the Foxes from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s cross.

While the result should ease the pressure on Leicester boss Rodgers, the position of his Leeds counterpart Jesse Marsch is likely to come under greater scrutiny, with their last win coming on 21 August.

More to follow.
