Scotland 3-0 Ukraine: John McGinn and Lyndon Dykes double earn vital Nations League win

Scotland captain John McGinn sent Hampden into a frenzy with a second-half opener

Scotland went on to make up for the pain of World Cup qualification with a decisive Nations League victory at Hampden to go top of Group B1.

Three months after losing to the same opposition, John McGinn scored a deserved 70th-minute opener after Scotland’s dominant and dynamic side had passed up a number of clear-cut chances in Glasgow.

Substitute Lyndon Dykes scored twice late on to seal a vital victory for the Scots over the Ukrainians.

Steve Clarke’s side are two points clear at the top of the table with two games remaining, the first of which is the visit of the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, before they face the Ukrainians in Krakow next Tuesday.
