The United Kingdom mourns Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth visited more than 120 countries during her 70-year reign: she saw regimes change, countries rise and fall, the end of the British Empire and the rise of globalization. Here are some of the most memorable trips around the world.
And now, too, it’s setting travel records: on September 13, a plane flying from Edinburgh to London became the most tracked flight ever on the aviation website Flightradar24.
Many tributes to Queen Elizabeth are expected in the coming weeks and months, but one of the earliest aviation-related honors came from France: the small seaside airport at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage has been named after the late queen.
